Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 28(3) of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, No. 32 of 2000, that the Municipality has adopted its IDP and Budget Schedule and IDP Review Process Plan 2026/2027.

All ward committee members, stakeholders, sector departments, communities and other role players are therefore requested to take note of the dates as contained in the notice availible H E R E.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: USE OF CORRECT MUNICIPAL ACCOUNT NUMBERS
We kindly request that all customers ensure they use the correct and most up-to-
date municipal account numbers when making payments to the Municipality. This
practice is essential in ensuring that your payments are accurately allocated to the
appropriate account and processed without unnecessary delays.

ATTENTION!

UPDATE REQUIRED FOR ALL PREPAID ELECTRICITY METERS

DEAR CUSTOMERS,

Emthanjeni Municipality is in the final stage of upgrading prepaid meters as per the Standard Transfer Specification (STS) and Token Identifiers (TID) Rollover Prepayment Meter reset that is due on 24 November 2024.

The Municipality is requesting that all customers with NON-STS (meter number usually starts with PT, TA or RT) meters that were not reached during the 2^nd phase, visit the Municipality’s Infrastructure Office before 15 August 2024 with a electricity slip in order to enable the Municipality to upgrade the meter before the deadline date.

The Municipality still has an estimated 600 prepaid meters that have not been rolled over due to the inability to access the households where the meters are located.

Please note that if your meter is not updated by 24 November 2024, you will not be able to purchase prepaid electricity.
